Five crews, five boats of our own: We’re here at the RS Venture Connect European Championship in Travemünde
Hoyerswerda, July 15, 2026 – From July 18 to 21, 2026, the RS Venture Connect European Championship will be contested for the first time in the Bay of Lübeck as part of Travemünde Week. “Wir sind Wir – Inclusion in Sailing e.V.” will be competing with five crews on five club-owned boats.

The European Championship
The European Championship is part of the 2026 RS Games, which will be held outside the United Kingdom for the first time and are integrated into the 137th Travemünde Week (July 17–26). 27 teams from eleven nations have registered—representing three continents: Germany fields the largest contingent with twelve crews, followed by two entries each from Great Britain, Norway, Sweden, Spain, and Ukraine, and one each from Australia, Grenada, Italy, Portugal, and Switzerland.
The competition kicks off on Saturday, July 18, at 12:00 p.m.; twelve races are scheduled. Competition will take place in the Open, Para, and Inclusive categories.
The competition is fierce: As defending champions in the Para category, the 2025 European champions from Oslo, Pau Toni Homar & Ramón Gutierrez (Spain), are traveling to Travemünde. Also entered are the 2025 Inclusive European champions Adam Billany (Great Britain) and Jazz Turner—who will be competing for Grenada this time—the Para world champions Henriette Smith & Solfrid Lindhjem Kvinnesland (Sailing Grace, Norway), the Inclusive world champions Genevieve Wickham & Grant Alderson (Australia), and Elliot Finnestrand (Norway), World Championship medalist Pedro Câncio Reis (Portugal), and Paralympic champion Jens Kroker (Germany).
