When Soccer Takes the Field for Inclusive Sailing
At TuS Osdorf, the club’s select team faced off against the Pantaenius All Stars in a charity game to benefit our inclusive sailing projects—with a fantastic atmosphere and a four-figure donation total.
Sometimes the best support comes from a completely different league. In Osdorf, Pantaenius and TuS Osdorf teamed up to organize a charity match: the TuS Osdorf select team versus the Pantaenius All Stars—all to benefit the inclusive sailing projects of Wir sind Wir Inclusion in Sailing e.V.
It turned out to be a wonderful day. Amid a great atmosphere, numerous spectators gathered—many families were there—and everyone enjoyed a barbecue, chatted, and celebrated together. In the end, the event raised a four-figure donation for inclusive sailing.

And yet it’s not the amount that moves us the most—it’s the gesture. Soccer is in a league of its own, both literally and figuratively: the sport with the most members, the largest association, and the most sponsors. The fact that a soccer club, of all organizations, is stepping up to support a completely different sport—and is putting inclusive sailing at the center of it—fascinates and inspires us. That is exactly what sports are all about in the best sense: standing up for one another.
“The fact that a soccer club is stepping up for inclusive sailing is a wonderful sign—and we’d like to see more of it,” says Sven Jürgensen, chairman of Wir sind Wir Inclusion in Sailing e.V. “It shows what sports can truly be about: that we’re there for one another.”
Our heartfelt thanks go to TuS Osdorf and Pantaenius—and especially to Matze from TuS Osdorf and Simone Wippern from Pantaenius, who made this match possible. You gave us a wonderful day.
Perhaps this is just the beginning: For 2027, our hope is to develop a similar format for a good cause together with other sailing and soccer clubs—one that brings sports together and shows how much is possible when we stand together.
Inclusive sailing needs a lot of support
Boats, coaches, equipment, support vehicles, helping hands: Inclusive sailing thrives on the people and partners who get involved. Every gesture counts. Whether you’re a club, a company, or an individual—anyone who wants to be a part of this is warmly invited to get in touch with us.
